A fire broke out in a two-story building located on N. Gastello Street in Astana's Baykonyr district, with flames engulfing the roof upon the arrival of emergency services.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) reported that the firefighting operation was conducted at a high level, designated as a 'high-call' response, indicating the severity of the incident.

Intense Firefighting Efforts

To combat the blaze, three fire brigades were mobilized, ensuring a continuous supply of water. The gas and smoke protection service worked to identify the extent of the fire's spread. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported at this time.

Fire Contained and Extinguished

By 12:41 PM, the MES announced that the fire had been contained. As a precautionary measure, eight gas cylinders were safely removed from the premises. The ministry confirmed that the risk of further spread had been eliminated.

At 1:17 PM, the fire was declared completely extinguished. The blaze had affected an area of 270 square meters. Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire may have been caused by the improper use of a heating stove. Thankfully, no injuries were sustained.

This incident follows a recent report of a cargo truck fire in Astana, which also resulted in no injuries.
