Astana Restaurants Offer Special Menus and Extended Hours for Ramadan

As the holy month of Ramadan begins, many restaurants and cafes in Astana are introducing special menus and extending their operating hours to accommodate those observing the fast. This initiative aims to provide a welcoming environment for breaking the fast (iftar) with thoughtfully prepared meals.

Special Iftar Offerings

Numerous establishments are preparing special iftar buffets and set menus. These often feature traditional dishes such as surme, laghman, and shorpa, followed by main courses like pilaf, manti, and beshbarmak. Desserts and tea are typically included to complete the meal.

Chaihana NAVAT Adjusts Hours

Chaihana NAVAT has extended its operating hours across all its Astana branches. The restaurants will now be open daily from 9:00 AM to 12:00 AM (midnight), offering more flexibility for diners.

QAZAQ GOURMET's Ramadan Specials

Located on the left bank of Astana, QAZAQ GOURMET's restaurant will accept orders until 11:00 PM, while its canteen will serve until 10:30 PM. They are also offering special iftar set menus tailored for the Ramadan period.

Daredzhani and Del Papa Extend Service

Daredzhani and Del Papa restaurants maintain their regular schedule, open daily from 9:00 AM to 12:00 AM. However, branches within the MEGA shopping center will close at 10:00 PM on weekdays and 11:00 PM on weekends. Special iftar sets are also available here.

Qaganat Cafeteria Chain's Diverse Sets

The Qaganat cafeteria chain presents a variety of iftar sets, including beshbarmak, pilaf, horse meat dishes, soups, salads, and traditional sweets like zhent, accompanied by milk tea. Prices range from 2,500 to 3,500 tenge, with complimentary water and dates. The cafeterias operate 24/7. For VIP rooms, set menus are priced between 4,000 and 6,000 tenge, featuring items like manti, liver rolls, and fried chicken.

Koktem Cafe's Varied Iftar Options

Koktem Cafe offers several iftar menu options. One set includes borscht, salad, cutlets, bread, dates, and tea, priced between 6,990 and 8,290 tenge. They also feature an Indian-style iftar set with chicken or lamb, with different variations including specific soups, kebabs, and drinks.

'Ortalyk Palaw' Offers Set Menus

The 'Ortalyk Palaw' establishment on the right bank of the city provides several iftar sets, including pilaf, dumplings, kazan-kebab, salads, and bread. Prices range from 3,990 to 9,990 tenge. They are open from 11:00 AM to 12:00 AM.

Rumi Restaurant's Iftar Packages

Rumi Restaurant presents multiple set menus, with prices at 5,500 tenge and 7,500 tenge. Each set includes an iftar package with baursaki (2 pieces), fresh bread, beef samsa, dates, mors, and dessert.

Gruzin Kuzin's Georgian Delights

Gruzin Kuzin restaurant offers traditional Georgian cuisine for iftar, along with dates and baursaki. Prices range from 9,500 to 13,500 tenge. They are open from 12:00 PM to 2:00 AM.

Tagam's Daily Iftar Specials

Tagam features a different iftar menu each day of the week for 4,000 tenge and operates 24/7.

Darna Cafe: Moroccan Iftar

Darna Cafe serves Moroccan cuisine for iftar, with prices starting at 5,590 tenge. Advance booking is recommended due to limited seating. The cafe is open from 9:00 AM to 12:00 AM.

Other Notable Mentions

Some establishments, like Altyn Qasyq cafe on the left bank, are organizing group iftars with special menus and pricing for 10 and 12 people. Ramadan is expected to conclude on March 19th, with Eid al-Fitr celebrations beginning on March 20th. The Night of Decree (Qadr) falls on the night of March 16th-17th.
