Body of Missing 25-Year-Old Found in Almaty After Extensive Search
The body of 25-year-old Yerzat Yegizbay, who went missing on May 19, has been discovered in Almaty. His disappearance had prompted a large-scale search involving police and volunteer organizations.
Yerzat Yegizbay was last seen on Tuesday, May 19, when he left for work and never returned home. His family reported him missing, initiating a search effort that engaged the entire personnel of the Almaty City Police Department, alongside dedicated volunteers from "Qogam" and "Lider KZ".
Extensive Search Operations
Volunteer groups meticulously scoured the area, distributing search grids and covering various routes in an effort to locate Yerzat. The "Lider KZ" organization shared the tragic news on their Instagram page, confirming that the young man's body had been found within the Almaty city limits.
"We offer our deepest condolences to the relatives and loved ones of the deceased citizen. We wish them great strength and resilience to bear this heavy grief. Our search has concluded... Unfortunately, with a tragic outcome..." read a statement from "Lider KZ".
Last Known Movements
According to Yerzat's wife, he had never left home without notice before. He was not facing any criminal charges and was not on any official watchlists. His family stated that on the day of his disappearance, he had asked for permission to visit a store after work. He reportedly took a bus towards the village of Kosmos in the Enbekshikazakh district. His phone was last active in that area.
The discovery marks a somber end to the search efforts that had captured the attention of the local community.
