Developer Claims Only Partial Payment for "Wheel of Fortune" Site in Blogger Trial

The trial involving popular bloggers Yerbolat Zhanabylov and Elmira Tolegenova continues in Astana, with a key witness taking the stand. The developer behind the "Wheel of Fortune" website, which is central to the case, provided testimony regarding the project's finances and technical operations.

Development Costs Revealed

According to the investigation, the "Wheel of Fortune" website allowed participants who purchased online courses to enter prize draws. The developer testified that the initial budget for the project was set at 10 million tenge. However, the witness stated they did not receive the full amount, receiving approximately 7 to 8 million tenge instead.

How the "Wheel of Fortune" Operated

During questioning, the developer explained the mechanics of the prize draw system. Users who bought a course gained access to the site, where the "wheel" would automatically appear. Participants had the option to click "Spin" or close the window.

System Access and Control

The developer also addressed questions about who had access to the prize draw system's control panel and whether the results could be manipulated. The witness asserted that only they had access to the control panel, and that the Zhanabylovs did not use or access the system. They confirmed that manually altering the winner was not possible.

The court proceedings are ongoing.
