Kazakh Parliament Approves Nurlubek Nalibayev as First Deputy Prime Minister
Kazakhstan's Parliament has given the green light to Nurlubek Nalibayev's appointment as the country's First Deputy Prime Minister. The decision comes after the parliamentary committee reviewed his candidacy for the significant governmental role.
Committee Review and Approval
The Committee on Economic Reforms and Regional Development of the Parliament's Majilis held a session to discuss Nalibayev's nomination. Following deliberations, the committee concluded that Nalibayev is a suitable candidate for the position of First Deputy Prime Minister and recommended his appointment.
Transition in Government
This move follows the recent appointment of Roman Sklyar, the former First Deputy Prime Minister, as the Head of the Presidential Administration. This change was formalized by a decree from the Head of State on May 5th, marking a shift in key government positions.
Nalibayev's Background
Prior to this nomination, Nurlubek Nalibayev served as the Akim (Governor) of the Kyzylorda region, a position he held since April 2022. His experience in regional administration is expected to inform his new role at the national level.
