Kazakhstan is on alert as forecasters predict a significant and abrupt change in weather conditions across much of the country in the final days of May. Residents can expect a mix of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, hail, and powerful winds, signaling a turbulent end to the spring season.

Unsettled Weather on the Horizon

According to specialists from Kazhydromet, the anticipated instability is due to the passage of an atmospheric front. This weather system is expected to bring unsettled conditions to the majority of Kazakhstan. Specifically, heavy rains and hail are forecast for western regions on May 27th. The southern, southeastern, and central areas will experience similar conditions on May 27th and 28th, with the northern and eastern parts of the country facing strong winds and precipitation on May 28th.

Temperature Drops and Frost Warnings

Adding to the dramatic weather shift, overnight temperatures in the eastern regions of Kazakhstan are predicted to drop to as low as 2 degrees Celsius on May 26th and 27th. This sharp decline indicates the potential for frost, a rare occurrence so late in May, highlighting the severity of the incoming weather system.
