Thousands of Kazakh citizens are being removed from the official housing queue as a nationwide verification process is underway. The 'Otbanky' (Family Bank) has clarified the reasons behind these removals, aiming to ensure fairness and accuracy in the system.

Centralized Housing Queue System

As of May 24, 2025, 'Otbanky' became the sole institution responsible for managing the unified housing queue. Previously, local administrations maintained separate lists for various categories of citizens, from orphans to military personnel. The integration of all data into the 'Housing Provision Center' system has led to a comprehensive review.

Reasons for Removal from the Queue

The bank's data reveals that out of 408,565 individuals processed so far, 49,011 are currently under review, and 74,005 have had their queue status temporarily suspended. Significantly, 16,537 individuals have been removed from the queue, and 75,456 have had their registration rejected.

Being on the housing queue offers citizens several advantages, including priority access to government-subsidized housing programs and preferential loan terms for purchasing property.

System Reforms

Following the reforms, all adult citizens of Kazakhstan can apply for the queue under specific conditions. Applications can be submitted online through the bank's portal.

Currently, 968,640 Kazakh citizens are on the waiting list. Of these, 30% (306,632 individuals) are eligible for priority status.

Housing is allocated based on two main criteria: the applicant's social category and their priority status.

The bank continues to process applications and update the housing queue to ensure transparency and efficiency in providing housing solutions to citizens.
