Kazakhstan Joins Global 'Earth Hour' Initiative to Conserve Energy

Kazakhstan is set to join the global environmental movement 'Earth Hour' once again this year, on March 28th. The initiative encourages individuals and communities worldwide to turn off non-essential lights and electrical appliances for one hour, from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM local time.

This year's 'Earth Hour' campaign in Kazakhstan will focus on promoting the development of eco-tourism within the country. The primary goal of the event is to draw public attention to the importance of responsible consumption and the need to protect our planet's natural resources.

Nationwide Participation in Energy Conservation

During the designated hour, households, offices, and even prominent landmarks across Kazakhstan will switch off their lights. This symbolic act serves as a powerful reminder of our collective impact on the environment and the simple steps we can take to make a difference.

Understanding 'Earth Hour'

'Earth Hour' is an annual international event supported by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). It calls on people globally to switch off their lights for sixty minutes as a symbol of their commitment to the planet's future. This initiative has grown to become one of the largest environmental actions on Earth, with over 2 billion participants across approximately 7,000 cities in 180 countries.

While the international 'Earth Hour' will mark its 19th observance in 2026, Kazakhstan will be participating for the 17th time. Joining the movement is simple: just turn off your lights and unplug electrical devices for one hour starting at 8:30 PM on March 28th.
