Kazakhstan Joins Top 50 Global Economies by 2026
Kazakhstan is set to become one of the world's 50 largest economies by 2026, according to a new ranking that analyzes projected Gross Domestic Product (GDP) figures.
Global Economic Outlook
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) forecasts the global economy to reach $123.6 trillion by 2026. The United States is expected to lead with a GDP of $31.8 trillion, followed by China at $20.7 trillion.
Shifting Economic Landscape
While the US, China, and Germany are expected to maintain their positions as the largest economies, their growth rates will vary. India's economy is projected to surge by 6.2%, enabling it to overtake Japan and become the fourth-largest economy globally. Notably, India has already surpassed the UK in GDP since 2020.
Furthermore, Australia is predicted to climb to 14th place, displacing South Korea. Bangladesh is also set to rise, moving up to 33rd place with an economic growth of 4.9%, surpassing Vietnam.
Kazakhstan's Position
In this projected economic landscape, Kazakhstan is anticipated to secure the 50th position, concluding the list of the world's largest economies with a nominal GDP of $320 billion.
This projection follows previous reports indicating Kazakhstan's leadership among CIS countries in terms of GDP, according to IMF data.
Earlier in the year, the IMF had also issued a warning regarding the potential overheating of Kazakhstan's economy.
