Kazakhstan Official Ainur Sergaziyeva Dismissed Amid Public Scrutiny
Ainur Sergaziyeva has been dismissed from her role as Deputy Chairman of the Agency for Civil Service Affairs, a move that has generated significant public discussion regarding the underlying reasons.
The decision was formalized by a decree from Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Ulan Bekeshov has been appointed to replace Sergaziyeva in this significant governmental position, as reported by the official Akorda channel.
Public Reaction to Previous Tenure
Sergaziyeva's appointment to the agency in 2022 initially drew considerable attention due to her active presence on social media. Users widely discussed her travel posts, which documented trips to various countries including Thailand, Georgia, France, UAE, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Turkey, Russia, and Estonia. Her posts also featured purchases from luxury brands.
Particularly noteworthy were images showcasing designer items such as Louis Vuitton and Victoria's Secret bags, Tiffany & Co. jewelry, and a handbag valued at approximately 1.8 million tenge. Following the public outcry, some of these posts, including one from Dubai captioned "Mood to splurge and laugh!", were removed from her social media profiles.
Allegations of Misconduct
Further controversy arose in 2022 when a Telegram channel, reportedly representing employees of National Information Technologies JSC, published a statement. The statement alleged that Sergaziyeva's experience and qualifications did not align with her responsibilities and accused her of exerting psychological pressure on staff.
New Leadership Appointment
The newly appointed official, Ulan Bekeshov, previously served as the CEO of the National Center for Personnel Management in the Civil Service JSC. His career includes experience in the education, healthcare, and quasi-public sectors.
