A tragic road accident in the Turkistan region has claimed the lives of three young athletes. The group was traveling to a volleyball tournament when their vehicle collided with a truck, resulting in the immediate deaths of the three passengers.

Tragic Collision on Aris-Shardara Highway

The incident occurred on the Aris-Shardara highway when a Chevrolet Cobalt, carrying the young athletes, collided with a KAMAZ truck. The impact was severe, and tragically, three passengers in the car were pronounced dead at the scene. The Turkistan Regional Police Department confirmed the fatalities.

Young Volleyball Players on Their Way to Competition

Initial reports indicate that the occupants of the car were talented young volleyball players heading to a competition in Turkistan city. The driver of the car has been identified as their coach. He, along with another passenger, sustained injuries and were transported to a local hospital. The driver of the KAMAZ truck survived the collision.

Investigation Launched into Circumstances

According to Bauyrzhan Ziyatayev, Deputy Head of the Turkistan Regional Police Department, authorities were not notified about the transportation of underage athletes. A pre-trial investigation has been initiated to determine the exact circumstances of the accident. This includes examining the failure to properly fulfill duties related to ensuring the safety and well-being of the children.

Police are urging all road users to strictly adhere to traffic regulations and exercise caution while traveling.
