Blogger Ruslan Zhanpeisov Sentenced to 4 Days in Administrative Arrest

Shymkent auto blogger and lawyer Ruslan Zhanpeisov has been found guilty of disobeying a police officer's lawful demands, resulting in a 4-day administrative arrest. The sentence is set to begin on April 22.

Zhanpeisov was apprehended by police officers at his workplace on April 22. At the time, a report was filed against him for allegedly disobeying lawful demands from police officers in the Kyzylorda region, obstructing their work, and showing disrespect. However, a previous court ruling had dismissed the case, finding no signs of wrongdoing in his actions.

New Incident: Karaganda Event

Later, in a separate case, Zhanpeisov's interactions with police officers in the Karaganda region, where he filmed their actions, were reviewed. These recordings were added as evidence to the case files.

Interference with Police Raids

The Shymkent City Police Department stated that the blogger had "deliberately interfered with the lawful activities of police officers conducting raid operations to ensure city road safety."

"During his duty, it was determined that he approached patrol police officers multiple times, ignored their lawful demands, interfered with ongoing operations, obstructed their work, and caused conflict. His actions were overt and demonstrated disrespect towards representatives of authority. Despite repeated warnings, he did not cease his unlawful behavior," the police statement read.

The Shymkent Department of Internal Affairs emphasized that any actions hindering the lawful activities of law enforcement officers would be immediately stopped and legally assessed.

"No provocations, media support, or attempts at pressure will exempt individuals from responsibility. The law is the same for everyone – regardless of their status, connections, or public recognition," the department cautioned.
