Kazakhstan's National Olympic Committee President and renowned boxer Gennady Golovkin made an appearance at a professional boxing event held in Giza, Egypt. The highly anticipated match featured a bout between former heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk and Dutch kickboxer Rico Verhoeven.

The streaming service DAZN shared a video on social media capturing Golovkin's arrival at the event. His brother, Maxim Golovkin, was also seen accompanying him. The post highlighted the star-studded nature of the evening, stating, "Golovkin has arrived. Giza is now full of legends."

A Unique Sporting Spectacle

This unique encounter between a heavyweight boxing champion and a kickboxing star was contested under boxing rules. The stakes were high, with Usyk's WBC, WBA, and The Ring magazine championship belts on the line.

Adding to the spectacle, the fight was organized in a specially constructed ring set against the backdrop of Egypt's iconic Giza pyramids. The event was made possible with the support of Turki Al-Sheikh, Chairman of Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority.
