Halyk SuperApp faces heavy load: logins and payments stalled for users on January 5

Logins, payments and transfers in Halyk Bank’s Halyk SuperApp were intermittently unavailable on Friday, January 5, 2026, after a surge in traffic triggered temporary limits—disrupting routine transactions for many users in Kazakhstan.

This was reported by the Infohub.kz news agency.

What happened

From early morning on January 5, customers reported authorization errors and could not access their accounts to make payments or transfer funds. The app displayed a notice stating that there were too many requests and to try again later.

User complaints were most frequent in the first half of the day. Official updates published with a timestamp referencing 13:55 local time noted that stabilization work was underway.

What the bank said

Halyk Bank’s press service attributed the service disruption to a sharp increase in system load and described the restrictions as temporary. The bank said its engineers were working to restore stable operations and apologized for the inconvenience.

Why it matters

Halyk SuperApp is a key channel for everyday payments, money transfers and loan repayments. Even short outages can delay point-of-sale purchases, online orders, subscription renewals and utility bill payments.

Wider context

Earlier this week, some users also reported brief issues with other banking apps and mobile internet services amid elevated demand for digital tools. Experts advise spacing out non-urgent transactions and retrying after a short interval if errors persist.
