A specialized inter-district court for administrative offenses in Almaty has terminated a case against former singer Rahat Turlikhanov. The proceedings were initiated following a domestic dispute.

Case Details and Court Proceedings

During the court session, the defense lawyer requested the case be heard in a closed session, but the court did not grant this request. The defense argued that the couple had reconciled and had no complaints against each other, leading them to request the case's dismissal.

According to the lawyer, no violence occurred, and the conflict stemmed from family disagreements. Turlikhanov's wife stated in court that her husband had not assaulted or insulted her. She clarified that their disagreement was related to divorce proceedings. Turlikhanov himself confirmed a dispute had taken place but denied using force.

Initial Complaint and Case Termination

Following these statements, the prosecutor recommended terminating the case and sending the materials for further investigation. The judge supported this decision, halting the proceedings under Article 73 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Offenses in the sphere of family-domestic relations) and forwarding the case to the prosecutor of Medeu district for additional review.

The court reported that the case was initially opened based on the victim's statement to law enforcement, which mentioned sustaining bodily injuries at the time of reporting. The court's decision has not yet entered into legal force.
