Kostanay Launches Two New Bus Routes on June 1st to Meet Resident Demand

Kostanay is set to enhance its public transportation system with the introduction of two new bus routes, №4 and №6, beginning June 1st. This development comes in response to numerous requests from city residents seeking improved access to public transit.

The decision to launch these new routes was announced by Dauren Askarov, head of the Housing and Communal Services Department, during a city administration meeting. The proposal to open routes №4 and №6 was based on an analysis of feedback received from the community, fulfilling a long-standing desire for better connectivity.

New Route Plans Unveiled

Route №4 is designed to serve socially significant and densely populated areas of the city. It will connect key locations including the "Uly Dala" park, microdistricts 7, 8, and 9, the "Airport" microdistrict, the Northwest area, the "Kostanay Plaza" shopping and entertainment center, and the Industrial Zone.

Route №6 will originate from Frolov Street and extend to the triathlon park area, connecting to Kyzyl Kenchi Street. This route will cover the central part of the city, the regional hospital, the "Kostanay Plaza" shopping and entertainment center, and the Olympic reserve swimming pool.

Pilot Program for New Routes

Both new routes will initially operate on a pilot basis for the first two months, commencing on June 1st. This trial period will allow authorities to assess passenger traffic volumes and gather data on the routes' effectiveness. Based on the results, a decision will be made regarding the continuation of these services. If the pilot proves successful, a tender will be held for the right to operate the routes on a permanent basis.

City Mayor Marat Zhundibayev emphasized that these new routes will address the long-term needs of the residents. He stated that the initiative aims to create equal opportunities for all citizens, ensuring that buses reach all parts of the city.
