Erkin Nygmetov has been appointed as the new General Director of the Kuryk Port in Mangystau, a strategic move aimed at enhancing the port's logistical capabilities. The appointment was announced by the Petrocouncil, a council for the development of strategic partnerships in the oil and gas industry.

A Strong Educational and Professional Background

Nygmetov brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new role. He is a graduate of the Kazakhstan Institute of Management, Economics and Strategic Research (KIMEP). Furthering his education, he earned a Master's degree in Supply Chain Management from Boston University in the United States and holds an MBA from Almaty Management University.

His career in the logistics and maritime sector began in 2006 as a specialist in the commercial department at KAZMORTRANSFLOT LLP. Over the years, he has held several key positions, including Head Manager of the Commercial Department (2010–2013) and Director of the Commercial Department (2013–2015).

Extensive Experience in Key Industry Roles

Nygmetov's expertise also extends to major projects. He served as a manager for the Tengizchevroil project (TCO) from 2016 to 2018. Following this, he took on the role of Director of the Business Development Department from 2018 to 2021.

More recently, he led the logistics resource management team at NCOC and served as the Commercial Director of KAZMORTRANSFLOT LLP starting in 2021. His most recent position was Director of Business Development at Caspian Integrated Maritime Solutions LLP.

Nygmetov is also a member of the Presidential Youth Personnel Reserve, highlighting his recognized potential and commitment to public service.

His appointment is expected to significantly contribute to the further development of the port's transport and logistics potential and strengthen its position on international routes.
