Authorities in the Karaganda region have successfully apprehended a criminal group suspected of carrying out a series of apartment burglaries. The operation, a result of targeted investigative efforts, has brought a halt to the group's alleged criminal activities.

Surveillance and Entry Tactics

Video footage released by the regional police department's press service offers a glimpse into the suspects' methods. The visuals show individuals meticulously surveying courtyards and entrances, carefully observing apartments. Investigators believe this reconnaissance was crucial for selecting their targets.

The group is suspected of gaining entry into apartments primarily through windows, a tactic that allowed them to operate with a degree of stealth.

The Arrest Operation

The operation culminated in a swift arrest, also captured on video. Special forces units stormed the apartment where the suspects were located, apprehending them. The footage also revealed a significant quantity of recovered items, including gold jewelry and other valuables.

"During targeted operational-search activities, criminal police officers, with the support of a special task force, stopped the activities of a criminal group involved in apartment burglaries," stated the press service of the Karaganda Oblast Police Department. "Three men, aged between 35 and 39, were detained. A criminal case has been initiated regarding the fact of large-scale theft. The suspects have been placed in a temporary detention facility."

Ongoing Investigation and Significant Losses

The investigation has uncovered at least one specific incident that occurred earlier this year on Loboda Street in Karaganda. In that burglary, gold jewelry, a fur coat, and a laptop were stolen. The preliminary estimated damages from this single incident alone exceeded 20 million tenge.

Police are currently investigating whether the detained individuals are connected to other similar crimes within the region. The operational-search and investigative actions are ongoing.
