Trump: Iran Must Not Acquire or Develop Nuclear Weapons, Sanctions Remain
U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a firm statement regarding the ongoing international negotiations with Iran, asserting that existing sanctions and blockade measures will remain unchanged until a new bilateral agreement is signed.
No Rush Towards a Deal
In a post on his personal social media, Trump indicated that while the current negotiation process is constructive, Washington is not inclined to rush into an agreement. He has instructed his representatives to take their time, stating, "Time is on our side. The blockade will remain in full force until the deal is concluded, ratified, and signed. Both sides must take their time and do things correctly. No mistakes should be made."
Criticism of Previous Deal
The President strongly criticized the previous nuclear agreement reached during the Obama administration, labeling it "one of the worst deals ever made by our country." Trump argued that this prior accord effectively paved the way for Iran to develop nuclear weapons.
Warning to Tehran
The White House leader issued a direct warning to Tehran, emphasizing that Iran must understand it is prohibited from developing or possessing nuclear weapons. "Our relationship with Iran is becoming more professional and productive. However, they must understand that they cannot develop or possess nuclear weapons," Trump declared.
