Kazakhstan Drivers Warned: Cameras Now Detect Expired Licenses and Insurance

Drivers in Kazakhstan are being put on notice: traffic cameras are now actively identifying and issuing fines for expired technical inspections, insurance policies, and driver's licenses. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has issued a reminder emphasizing that these violations will no longer go unnoticed by automated systems.

In an era where essential documents can be verified online within minutes, the ministry stresses that compliance is not just a formality but a crucial step towards ensuring road safety for everyone. Having a roadworthy vehicle, a valid insurance policy, and up-to-date documentation directly contributes to protecting the driver and all other road users.

Cameras Now Enforcing Key Driving Regulations

The Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed that automatic traffic cameras have begun detecting these specific infractions. A spokesperson for the ministry, Shugyla Turlybek, clarified the intention behind these measures. "We emphasize that these measures are not punitive, but are aimed at warning about risks and saving lives," she stated.

Technical Inspection Requirements Updated

Particular attention is being drawn to the regulations surrounding technical inspections. For vehicles older than 7 years, undergoing a technical inspection is mandatory. Furthermore, drivers of vehicles manufactured in 2019 are reminded that they must have completed their technical inspection at the beginning of this year and obtained the necessary documentation and system registration.

The ministry underscored that adhering to these fundamental requirements is not solely the driver's responsibility but a collective contribution to overall order and safety on the roads.
