Several regions across Kazakhstan have implemented road closures on various highway sections due to deteriorating weather conditions. The restrictions, which began this morning, are expected to remain in place until tomorrow morning, according to KazAvtoZhol National Company.

Aqtobe Region Faces Significant Disruptions

In the Aqtobe region, movement for trucks and public transport has been restricted on several roads. For instance, a 189-kilometer stretch (from kilometer 776 to 965) of the Aqtobe-Qarabuṭaq highway has been closed to traffic since 11:30 AM, with reopening anticipated around 9:00 AM tomorrow.

Similarly, all vehicle types are restricted on the Aqtobe-Russia border (Alimbet checkpoint) road from kilometer 39 to 136, effective since 12:00 PM and expected to reopen at 9:00 AM tomorrow. Another section, from kilometer 0 to 77 between the Zhaisan checkpoint and the 'ECO oil' gas station, has also seen traffic halted for all vehicles since 1:30 PM, with a planned reopening for 9:00 AM tomorrow.

Trucks and public transport are also affected on the Aqtobe-Qandyagash highway, with a closure from kilometer 11 to 104 since 1:50 PM, aiming for a 9:00 AM reopening tomorrow. The Qarabuṭaq-Kostanay region border section (kilometers 5-234) has restrictions for heavy and public vehicles since 2:00 PM, with an earlier reopening expected at 8:00 AM tomorrow.

The Aqtobe-Oral highway section between Marzhanbulak and the West Kazakhstan region border (kilometers 526-702) has halted truck and public transport movement since 2:00 PM, with a 9:00 AM reopening planned for tomorrow. The northern bypass of Aqtobe city (kilometers 0-39) is closed to all vehicle types since 2:30 PM, also expected to reopen at 9:00 AM tomorrow.

Further restrictions are in place on the Aqtobe-Qarabuṭaq highway (kilometers 776-965) for all vehicle types since 3:00 PM, with a 9:00 AM reopening expected tomorrow. The Qarabuṭaq-Yrgiz section (kilometers 965-1153) is closed to trucks and public transport since 3:00 PM, with a planned reopening at 9:00 AM tomorrow.

Kostanay Region Road Status

In Kostanay region, truck and public transport movement has been restricted since 2:00 PM on several roads. This includes the section from the Aqtobe region border to Denisovka (kilometers 234-385) and the Tobyl-Auliyekol road (kilometers 8-108). Reopening is anticipated for 8:00 AM tomorrow.

Akola and Karaganda Regions Affected

In Akola region, truck and public transport are restricted on the Astana-Karaganda-Almaty highway from kilometer 30 to 92 (Zhibek Zholy - Karaganda region border) since 12:40 PM. This section was scheduled to reopen today at 5:00 PM.

Similarly, in Karaganda region, the Astana-Karaganda-Almaty highway from kilometer 92 to 164 (Akola region border - Temirtau checkpoint) has restricted truck and public transport movement since 12:40 PM. This road was also expected to reopen today at 5:00 PM.

West Kazakhstan Region Updates

In West Kazakhstan region, truck and public transport movement on the Aqtobe-Oral highway from kilometer 393 to 526 (Zhimpyty - Aqtobe region border) has been restricted since 2:00 PM. The road is planned to reopen tomorrow at 9:00 AM.
