Kazakhstan's Highest Paid Professionals Revealed Amidst Labor Market Dynamics
In April, Kazakhstan's digital labor exchange, 'Enbek.kz', saw a significant influx of both job openings and applications. Employers posted 104.7 thousand vacancies, while job seekers uploaded 123.3 thousand resumes, indicating a dynamic employment landscape.
Top Salary Expectations and Offers
The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection has shed light on the professions attracting the highest salary offers. While employers were willing to pay top Tenge for certain specialists, job seekers' expectations often reached even higher.
According to ministry data, employers offered the highest salaries to professionals in fields such as IT, oil and gas, and specialized engineering roles. However, the exact figures for these top-tier offers were not detailed in the report.
Conversely, job seekers expressed aspirations for even greater compensation. Resumes indicated a desire for salaries that significantly surpassed typical market rates, particularly among those seeking roles in high-demand sectors.
Labor Market Trends: Supply Outpacing Demand
The overall supply of labor in Kazakhstan currently exceeds demand, with a noticeable increase in job seeker activity compared to employer postings. The education sector leads with the highest number of vacancies, offering 20.2 thousand positions.
Other sectors with substantial job openings include services (15.5 thousand), agriculture, forestry, and fisheries (10.7 thousand), manufacturing (9.5 thousand), and healthcare and social services (9.4 thousand).
Geographically, the highest concentration of vacancies was reported in Astana (8.5 thousand), followed by the Pavlodar region (7.2 thousand), Almaty (6.7 thousand), Akmola region (6.6 thousand), and Karaganda region (6.4 thousand).
Skills in Demand and Applicant Profiles
The job market reflects a demand for various skill levels. Approximately 46 percent of available positions require mid-level qualifications. High- and low-skilled roles each account for about 27 percent of the vacancies.
The profile of job seekers closely mirrors this demand structure. Resumes submitted show that 42 percent of applicants are seeking mid-level positions, 31 percent are targeting high-level roles, and 27 percent are looking for low-skilled employment.
Demographics of the Job Seeker Pool
Younger professionals are actively participating in the job market, with 39 percent of applicants being under 35 years old. The 35-44 age group represents 28 percent of job seekers, followed by the 45-54 age bracket at 20 percent, and those over 55 making up 13 percent.
When examining gender distribution, women constitute a slightly larger portion of the applicant pool, with 53 percent of resumes submitted by females compared to 47 percent by males.
