Renowned Russian Actor and Director Vladimir Dovzhik Dies at 58

Vladimir Dovzhik, a prominent figure in Russian theater and cinema, known for his work as both an actor and director, has passed away at the age of 58.

The news was announced by the official page of the "Chelovek" Theater, where Dovzhik had a long and distinguished career.

A Career in Theater

Dovzhik began his tenure at the "Chelovek" Theater in 1998. He was not only recognized for his acting prowess but also for his directorial talents. He staged productions such as "The Adventures of Bantik the Hippo" and "About Masha." Additionally, he played a leading role in the play "Art."

The theater collective paid tribute to Dovzhik, stating, "A versatile, intelligent, and sensitive actor and a talented director, Vladimir Dovzhik made a significant contribution to the development of our Theater. According to RBC, Dovzhik appeared in over a hundred film roles throughout his career. He is remembered for his portrayal of neurosurgeon Yuri Mikhailovich Sheinman in the series "Sklifosovsky" and a lawyer in the "Brigada" series. He also played the role of director Yan Frid in a film about actress Lyudmila Gurchenko.

The actor also featured in the series "Zhivoi Pushkin" alongside Leonid Parfenov, "Mosgaz. Case No. 11: The Draw," and "Mamochki." His filmography includes an appearance in Stanislav Govorukhin's "The End of a Beautiful Era."
