WhatsApp is bringing a long-awaited feature to its web version, enabling users to make voice and video calls directly from their browser. Previously, this functionality was exclusive to the mobile application.

WhatsApp Web's New Calling Features

According to insider reports, support for voice and video calls on WhatsApp Web is currently undergoing testing. While not yet available to all users, this feature is operational in the beta version. It allows users to initiate calls within individual chats directly through their browser, eliminating the need to install a separate desktop application.

How the Calls Will Work

Developers have reportedly been testing this new functionality for approximately a year. Users will be able to establish a connection by opening a chat in their browser and clicking the call icon. This streamlined process removes the requirement for installing additional software.

Future Rollout

This feature is currently accessible only to beta testers. However, it is expected to be released to all users in the coming weeks.
