Eurasian Resources Group (ERG), a prominent mining and metallurgical company, has announced a key leadership transition. Ablay Sadenov has been appointed as the new CEO responsible for the company's operations within Kazakhstan, a decision confirmed by the ERG's management board.
Leadership Transition
This appointment follows the early termination of Serik Shakhzhanov's tenure in the position. The management board stated that these changes are part of standard corporate governance procedures. The decision was officially endorsed by Roman Sklyar, a Category 'A' manager within the company.
ERG's Role in Kazakhstan
Eurasian Resources Group is a major player in the global mining and metallurgy sector, with operations spanning Kazakhstan, Africa, Europe, and South America. In Kazakhstan, ERG's core assets include prominent enterprises such as Kazchrome, SSGPO, Kazakhstan Aluminum, the Kazakhstan Electrolysis Plant, and the Eurasian Energy Corporation.
Ownership Changes
The Kazakhstani government holds a 40% stake in the company. Previously, major shareholders included businessmen Patokh Chodiev and Alexander Mashkevich. Recently, their shares were acquired by Kazakhstani businessman Shakhmurat Mukanov, marking one of the most discussed developments in the country's mining and metallurgy sector.
