A violent incident unfolded at the reception area of the Ekibastuz City Hospital when two intoxicated men attacked medical personnel. The assault left a doctor and a nurse injured and requiring hospitalization.

Assault Details Emerge

The incident occurred on April 12th when a man with a jaw injury arrived at the hospital's reception, accompanied by two friends. All three were reportedly intoxicated. During the examination, medical staff asked one of the men to step out of the examination room, but he refused, displaying aggressive behavior and using offensive language, disrupting the medical professionals' work.

Escalation and Injuries

When the request to leave the room was repeated, the situation escalated. One of the men forcefully opened the door, hitting the doctor in the head. As the traumatologist attempted to escort the disruptive individuals out, they resisted. According to witnesses, the men repeatedly struck the doctor on the head and body, causing him to lose consciousness. A nurse who intervened to protect her colleague also sustained injuries from the attackers.

Police Intervention and Investigation

The Pavlodar Regional Police Department confirmed that a criminal case has been initiated regarding the violence against the medical staff. Police officers who arrived at the scene apprehended three suspects. Two have been placed in a temporary detention center, while the third was admitted to a special ward under police supervision. The police released video footage of the incident, showing one man knocking down and assaulting the doctor outside the hospital. The injured medical workers were admitted to the hospital for treatment.

Authorities emphasized a strict zero-tolerance policy towards violence against medical personnel and emergency services.
