Starting April 13th, Kazakhstan is transitioning its work permit and extension services for foreign laborers entirely online. This significant shift means that applications will no longer be processed at Public Service Centers (PSCs), aiming to streamline the process for individuals seeking employment in the country.

Online Services Now Mandatory

The issuance and renewal of permits for labor migrants have moved to a fully digital format. Access to these services is now exclusively available through the eGov.kz or migration.enbek.kz portals. This change allows foreign nationals to apply for or extend permits to work for individuals within Kazakhstan entirely online.

Simplified Documentation Process

The new online system eliminates the need for manual submission of certain documents. For instance, medical certificates and insurance details will now be automatically retrieved from government databases, simplifying the application process for users.

Ministry of Digital Development Confirms Transition

According to the Ministry of Digital Development, all necessary integrations have been implemented on the eGov.kz portal. This includes automated checks for medical examinations, insurance, and tax payments. Rostislav Konyashkin, First Vice Minister of Digital Development, stated, "From April 13, the provision of this service through PSCs will cease. Applications will now only be accepted online via egov.kz or migration.enbek.kz."

Permit Duration and Issuance

Decisions on granting or extending permits are made by the akimats of cities and districts of regional significance, in coordination with territorial units of internal affairs bodies. Permits are issued for a period ranging from 1 to 12 months, within the established quotas for attracting labor migrants.
