Newborn Found in Bag in Aktobe Named Batyr, Recovers in Hospital
A newborn baby boy, found abandoned in a plastic bag on the streets of Aktobe, has been given the name Batyr. The infant is currently receiving care at a local hospital and is showing signs of improvement.
A Promising Recovery
The baby was admitted to the regional children's hospital weighing 2 kilograms 900 grams. Now, his weight has surpassed 3 kilograms. While initially assessed as being in moderately serious condition, doctors report that all medical tests have yielded normal results, indicating a positive recovery trajectory.
Preparing for a New Home
Plans are underway to transfer the baby to an orphanage. "The baby's weight is increasing in line with age norms. Necessary documents are currently being processed in collaboration with guardianship authorities and police representatives. Once all procedures are complete, the child will be transferred to the 'Umit' orphanage," stated Aliya Sharbakova, head of a department at the Aktobe Regional Health Department.
The Discovery
The infant was discovered on May 23rd near a tree on the outskirts of Aktobe. A group of schoolchildren on a walk first noticed the black plastic bag. Initially mistaking it for a cat, they approached and were surprised to find a baby inside. The identity of the baby's mother remains unknown.
