U.S. President Donald Trump has declared Iran's response to an American proposal as "completely unacceptable." The statement was made on his social media platform, Truth Social, on Sunday, May 10th.

"I read the response from the so-called 'representatives' of Iran. I did not like it – completely unacceptable!" Trump stated, adding, "Thank you for bringing this matter to my attention."

Accusations Against Iran

Hours earlier, the U.S. leader had accused Iran of a 47-year pattern of deception and aggression against the United States and the world. He alleged that Iran had "fooled us, waited for us, killed our people with roadside bombs, suppressed protests, and recently destroyed 42,000 innocent unarmed protesters," before adding, "But they can no longer laugh!"

Iran's Diplomatic Move

Iranian media reported on Sunday that Tehran had officially submitted its response to Washington's latest proposal. The document was delivered through Pakistani intermediaries. Tehran indicated that the current diplomatic efforts are focused on a comprehensive cessation of hostilities in the region.

Key Points of the Proposal

According to Euronews, citing Iranian state television, Tehran aims to halt fighting on all fronts, including in Lebanon, and ensure maritime security. Washington's recent proposal reportedly included an agreement to cease hostilities, restore operations in the Strait of Hormuz, and halt Iran's nuclear program. Tehran, however, appears to prefer discussing the nuclear program at a later stage.

This exchange highlights the ongoing complexities and deep-seated mistrust in the diplomatic relations between the U.S. and Iran.
